How to Apply

Here is a list of the items you will need to submit as part of a complete application (only candidates who have submitted all of these items will be considered for the bursary):

1. A completed Application Form
2. A Letter of Reference. The Letter of Reference must be completed and submitted to us directly by your referrer.
3. An audio or video sample of you performing your music. This does not need to be of professional quality, just something to give us a sense of your music (e.g. an iPhone or webcam recording). That said, audio recording services are also available at no cost via these Toronto youth services agencies: Sketch and L.O.F.T. The music sample must clearly show the applicant performing his/her instrument. Additional music samples may also be submitted in which the applicant is a member within a group, provided that the applicant and his/her instrument are clearly identifiable within the recording.
Music samples may be submitted physically (e.g. on CD, USB flash memory sticks, etc.), uploaded to our website as part of the on-line application, sent in via email as attached files, or by including links to the applicant’s recorded samples on YouTube.

You may apply for the Shine Music Bursaries in one of two ways:

1. Download the application package and then email or mail it to us at Bursaries@ShineConcert.ca Please also have your Referrer download the Letter of Reference template. He/she should then complete it on your behalf and submit it directly to us, as per the instructions on the template.

OR

2. Complete our On-line Application form (N.B.You will still need to have your Referrer complete and submit for you the Letter of Reference)
