How to Apply

You must provide all three items below in order to be considered for a bursary:

  1. A completed Application Form
  2. A Letter of Reference. The Letter of Reference must be completed and submitted to us directly by your referrer. You may provide more than one letter of reference.
  3. A Music Sample of you performing. This does not need to be of professional quality, we just need something to give us a sense of your music (e.g. a smartphone video). If your music sample is of you performing as a member within a group, you and your instrument must be clearly identifiable within the recording.
    Music Samples may be submitted as links to YouTube or other video- or music-sharing services. Music Samples may also be submitted as files uploaded to our website in the on-line application; sent to us as email attachments; or submitted on memory devices such as CD, DVD, USB flash drives, etc.

You may apply for the Shine Music Bursaries in one of two ways:

  1. Off-line: download the application package and then submit your completed package to us via email at Bursaries@ShineConcert.ca, or via Canada Post. Please also have your Referrer download the Letter of Reference template. He/she should then complete it and submit it directly to us, as per the instructions on the template.

OR

  1. Complete our On-line Application form (N.B. You will still need to have your Referrer send us a Letter of Reference on your behalf)
