The purpose of the SHINE Concert is to raise money to fund the SHINE Music Bursary for Youth. This worthy cause is made possible through the volunteer efforts of many individuals, and through the generous support of many individuals, groups, and local businesses.
In 2021 we’re particularly grateful for the generous contribution made by our major donor, HGC Engineering! Thanks to them, we’re able to support more bursary recipients than would otherwise be possible. On behalf of SHINE and of our current and future recipients, thank you HGC Engineering! Thank you also to our friends at CIUT 89.5FM for their ongoing support in promoting both our Shine Concert and our Bursary program!
We would also like to acknowledge the many local businesses who have been steadfast supporters of SHINE throughout the years, many of whom are listed below. This Covid pandemic has been difficult for everyone, but few have felt its devastation as keenly as have our local business friends. This year we haven’t asked them for a contribution to our Silent Auction or to our Raffle Draw – they’ve already given so generously and so regularly, and we can’t thank them enough. Instead, we will simply offer our heartfelt appreciation for all that they’ve done for SHINE and for the important roles they play in the fabric of our community. Thank you for all that you do and stay strong!! (Please try to shop LOCALLY whenever you can, folks, and support your neighbourhood businesses!)
